The Piaggio Zip 50 is a fantastic entry level scoot. The Zip 50 sports Italian branding and Italian style to boot.  The punchy 4 stroke engine (with electric start) and 'twist and go' transmission provides ample pickup for whizzing around town, while the under seat storage is perfect for an open face helmet, or the bread and milk.

Apart from the very sharp price, we really like the Zips glovebox area for your sunnies and spare change (needed for an occasional tank of  fuel).  The dash is very clear and functional, and the brakes are more than capable of pulling you up very quickly.  The shopping bag hook comes in very handy too.

The under seat storage can be complimented with an optional genuine Piaggio topbox which is lockable and comes colour coded to match your scoot.

The Zip 50 comes standard with many features not normally found in the 50cc market, including alloy wheels, front disc brake and three-position height adjustable seat.

As for fuel consumption you can expect between 45 and 55 kilometres per litre and with a 7.5 litre tank, so we're talking $8.00 to do over 300kms.  Cheap to run and it puts out super low emissions too.
